Catherine Moncrieff - AnthropologistCatherine has been with YRDFA since April, 2002 when she coordinated YRDFA's first Traditional Ecological Knowledge project. Catherine now serves as the Traditional Ecological Knowledge Program Manager and is the staff Anthropologist. Catherine has extensive experience working with rivers and the people who care about them from her work as Outreach Director and interim Executive Director for the Anchorage Waterways Council. She has worked extensively with Alaska Native organizations through her work at the Anchorage Waterways Council and the UAA Institute of Social and Economic Research. She has a Master's degree in Applied Cultural Anthropology from the University of Alaska, Anchorage (UAA) and a B.S. in Cultural Geography and Ecosystems from the University of Oregon. Catherine considers herself a lifelong Alaskan. Her family moved to Anchorage from British Columbia in 1970s when she was five years old.
